API

A documented interface that lets one software system request data or actions from another system.

Base64

A text encoding used by BOIVA's documented request format to carry selfie or KTP image data in JSON.

Client ID

A private application credential used with the Client Key to generate a BOIVA public access token. Keep it server-side.

Client Key

The private credential paired with a Client ID. Store it in a secret manager or protected environment variable.

Data matching

A comparison between identity attributes supplied in a request and official citizenship records.

Dukcapil

Indonesia's population and civil-registration authority. BOIVA documentation refers to citizenship records and registry updates in explaining verification results.

eKYC

Electronic Know Your Customer: digital processes used by organizations to identify and assess customers.

Face comparison

A signal indicating whether a submitted selfie matches the image associated with the verified identity.

IDVB

BOIVA Basic Data Verification: NIK and full-name matching with optional date of birth, without a selfie.

IDVC

BOIVA Comprehensive KYC Verification: identity-data matching, selfie comparison, and a liveness confidence score.

IDVS

BOIVA Enhanced Data Verification with Selfie: identity-data matching plus a required selfie comparison.

Liveness

A signal intended to assess whether a submitted selfie represents a live presentation. IDVC returns a documented confidence score.

NIK

Nomor Induk Kependudukan, the Indonesian national identity number used in BOIVA identity-verification requests.

Normalized

A documented response indicator for certain birth-date discrepancies, including when a date derived from NIK differs from official records.

Public access token

A BOIVA token generated from client credentials and used to authorize API requests. The documented validity period is one hour.

Sandbox

BOIVA's test and development environment at sandbox.boiva.id, used before production activation.

Verification signal

A returned match status, field, or score that an organization can incorporate into its own decision policy.
